Active members within CDAAC are expected to know and fulfill their roles, attend monthly meetings and participate in at least one project. Though it sounds like a major time commitment the expectation is only a few hours a week. In the director position individuals will work alongside a team of directors, and the treasurer. Directors meet quarterly to discuss goals, review the yearly budget, approve quarterly reports and financials of the association. It is the responsibility of directors to attend monthly executive meetings, approve meeting minutes/agenda and actively contribute to the meetings. Directors may assist with inquiries from CDAs, employers, speech therapists and the community partners and work on projects within subcommittees. Yearly, directors will help to develop CDAAC goals for the year, continuing to further to support CDAAC’s mission and mandate.
In the marketing position individuals will work in collaboration with the Marketing Chair to contact potential sponsors and partners to establish an affiliation for CDA-specific related benefits. Help to support coordinating with sponsors and partnerships on a regular basis to update and/or renew affiliation agreements. For the yearly spring conference, the marketing team will coordinate with CDAAC Conference Committee to assist with donations, giveaways, etc. In this role you will also coordinate with the Social Media Coordinator to make posts to active social media accounts to share information from CDAAC Exec and other relevant topics (i.e. insurance, sponsorships, membership discounts/benefits).
