An exciting opportunity exists to work in a collaborative inter-professional environment alongside Speech-Language Pathologists, delivering speech, language, cognitive-communication, hearing, feeding and dysphagia supports to patients and their families in a medically complex continuing care program.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with excellent initiation skills, an interest in learning and continuous education who wishes to be part of a team of rehabilitation practitioners who are considered leaders in the delivery of complex and continuing rehabilitative care. The Communication Disorders Assistant (CDA) will be responsible for performing speech-language and hearing screenings, delivering direct treatment and remediation programs to patients selected and monitored by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), recording and reporting data relative to patients’ performance, preparing appropriate communication aids, supporting AAC devices, completing meal observations, performing routine maintenance on SLP-specific equipment, and all other related duties as assigned. The CDA will also be involved in preparing for and facilitating a variety of groups. In this role, the CDA will be working with patients with diverse and complex medical needs including; stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions. The CDA will contribute to ensuring there is a safe environment for all patients, staff and visitors.
