S. L. Hunter SpeechWorks is looking for a dynamic and collaborative Communicative
Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our diversely experienced clinical team in the lovely
community of Burlington, ON. Our agency has been providing SLP services to the
GTA, Halton and Niagara regions since 1995; we are passionate about providing
speech, language, communication and swallowing services to the children and adults in
our community and are excited to welcome another clinician to our team.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of our duly qualified Speech-
Language Pathologists, in accordance with the guidelines for supportive personnel as
set forth the by College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
(CASLPO).
Our CDA team members have the rich opportunity to work with a varied pediatric,
adolescent and adult caseload. After school hours are required based on client
scheduling needs. There is also the unique opportunity to participate in our northern
initiative, with SLP and CDA services provided to an underserviced region of our
province.

promote growth and development with our clients.
The CDA will:
provide direct one-to- one and potential small group therapy sessions at our clinic
location with some virtual treatment as relevant. Sessions may also be provided
in various locations including homes, daycares/schools and other client locations
as indicated by client needs.
formulate accurate clinical documentation
collaborate and consult with the supervising SLP and other relevant team
members in the client’s circle of care
create and develop therapy materials as needed
provide families with resources, information, and home programs
assist with parent and client workshops
coordination of clinic volunteers
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program or
SLP-A program
strong computer skills
exceptional organizational skills and creativity
excellent oral and written communication skills
excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work with a collaborative,
multidisciplinary team
comfort level in managing clients with behavioural challenges
possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum is preferred
understanding of and some proficiency with social media applications is an asset
This is a salaried position; paid vacation time and a health benefit package.
