OPSEU 258 salary Communicative Disorders Assistant is $ $24.77 – $27.56 per hour


Current available opportunities:


·       0.9 FTE Communicative Disorders Assistant (0.8 FTE contract, 0.1 FTE permanent) (CDA) supporting Infant Hearing Program (IHP) at the Kitchener & Cambridge sites


·       2.5 FTE (1.5 FTE permanent, 1.0 FTE contract) Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) supporting Early Years (EY) at multiple sites


The goal of a CDA, under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist, is to enhance the communication skills of clients, specifically preschool aged children, in partnership with their families, and their community. This is achieved through prevention, education, consultation, early identification and management of communication disorders and contributing to the development of continuous quality improvement activities.




Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma; member of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDAAC); proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team; excellent oral and written communication skills; computer skills and strong time management skills.  Experience with children who have a variety of developmental, physical, and communicative disorders. Experience in working with preschool aged clients, both in-person and virtually, including parent education and coaching, is preferred. Demonstrated consultation and problem solving skills. Demonstrated strength in the organization, coordination, and management of program demands in a fast paced environment. High levels of attention to detail and confidentiality. Ability to work independently with little direction; self-motivated and demonstrate initiative. Knowledge of Goldcare or other electronic charting software an asset. Proficiency in MS Office and data entry. Standard First Aid and CPR is an asset. Travel is required for these roles. You must have access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage.
