Position Summary

Trail Community Health is looking for a knowledgeable Audiometric Technician with experience in providing clinical, technical, financial and administrative services to support the delivery of clinical care primarily to children and vulnerable adults who may be at risk of or who have a hearing loss.

In this role the Audiometric Technician conducts general Audiometric tests, such as pure tone hearing screening and/or testing, otoacoustic emissions screening, impedance screening and sound level measurements using equipment such as audiometers, hearing aid analyzers and sound level meters. Utilization of behaviour management techniques is executed to facilitate testing by such strategies as visual reinforcement, games, distraction and conditioned responses.

Reporting to the Pediatric Audiologist you will draw upon your ability to provide client care and support by instructing clients/caregivers and answering questions about the use and care of hearing aids/ear couplers/FM/ Assistive Listening Devices and to provide client follow up by documenting information relevant to hearing aid fitting, modification and performance and monitor case file for new or ongoing problems and taking action as appropriate.

This is a permanent, full-time position that works Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00.
