Communicative Disorders Assistant

This position is responsible for delivery of speech-language pathology services for children with various speech, language and communication needs in 1:1 setting and supervised by our Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in compliance with IMCDC policies and procedures. We provide individualized and comprehensive assessments as well as unique treatment programs for each of our clients. Job Description:

Inclusive Milestones is looking for an energetic and creative Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to provide speech therapy under the guidance and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (S-LP).

Duties & Responsibilities:

-To provide speech therapy to children regarding speech and language programming, resources, accommodations, and modifications for children as per the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (S-LP).
-To work with children from different background and specialized populations.
-To collaborate and consult with S-LP and other company professionals.
-To create and develop therapy materials as needed.
-To provide families with resources, information and home programming.
-To complete thorough communication logs outlining session details to caregivers.
-Participate in continuing education classes and workshop to remain current and up to date within the field.
-To actively participate alongside supervising SLP in multidisciplinary team, and family meetings to support a collaborative approach.
-To model language facilitation strategies and the use of visual communication devices/systems to other team members.
-To implement, troubleshoot and support AAC communication.
-To collect data and complete SOAP notes thoroughly and on time using company EMR.
-To maintain Speech department equipment, materials and resources.
-To perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

-Secondary School Graduation Diploma with two years of post secondary education and a one year Communicative Disorders Assistant graduate certificate is required.
-Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program.
-Eligible member of CDAAC.
-Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
