We are currently in the process of recruiting a full-time technician/audiology assistant to complete vestibular and hearing assessments for the Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance Testing at Toronto General Hospital. The Centre for Advanced Hearing and Balance Testing is among the largest and most diverse outpatient audiology and specialty vestibular units in North America. This is a unique opportunity to receive on-the-job training for audio/vestibular assessment by some of the best vestibular practitioners in the country.

They must be highly motivated, conscientious and reliable while also being compassionate and caring. They most also possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, along with problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Job Description

The vestibular technician completes audio and vestibular testing for a patient over the course of approximately 2-3 hours, administering up to four clinical test during that time. The tests themselves involve interacting with both the patient and a computer to ensure that the data collected are complete, accurate, and informative. The technician will learn to use discretion and skill to determine when tests are incomplete/need to be repeated and how to identify and fix technical problems that contribute to inaccurate results (i.e. replacing a faulty electrode). Once the preliminary results are collected, the technician will upload the results and review them with the audiologist interpreting the results.


-Completion of CDA program (preferred) or undergraduate degree in kinesiology/health science/health studies.

-Strong computer/technical skills preferred.

Pay: starts at $25/hr
